Process driven electronic product development with award winning engineering
Our six-stage development process isn’t a diagram in a brochure. It’s how we work, it’s what makes our guarantee possible. At every stage we record what was agreed, what was built and what was proven, so, by the end, we know precisely what we’re standing behind.
- Implementation & Compliance Specification – Everything your product has to do is written down, uniquely numbered and defined so it can be measured rather than argued about. You approve it before a single line of design work starts.
- Electronics Hardware Design – Schematics, layout and bill of materials developed against those requirements, every document held at a known revision.
- Prototype – The first physical build, tied to an exact revision of every document behind it, so we always know what we actually made.
- Bring-up, Integration, Further Hardware & Software Development – Hardware and firmware brought together, with every change logged, assessed and re-tested rather than quietly absorbed.
- Test, Validation and Demonstration – Every requirement formally tested against its own pass criterion. Results recorded, including anything that didn’t pass, listed openly with the reasoning.
- Field Trial – Readiness confirmed and the design baseline sealed, this is the point at which the guarantee attaches.

How it works
The guarantee applies where we’ve run the full six-stage process on your product. We will always full stand behind a device we have specified, built and verified. At the end of your product development, you get more than a working device, you get the evidence it will continue to operate in the form of a unique, numbered Design Assurance Certificate.
It documents
- Every requirement we verified, listed by number.
- Anything that didn’t pass, recorded openly with the reasoning behind it.
- The exact design it applies to, hardware revision, bill of materials, firmware build, documentation.
- A cryptographic seal over the whole record, so the design can be identified beyond argument in five years’ time.
- The value of the guarantee and how much of it remains.
What’s covered?
- Anything we recorded as verified that later turns out not to hold.
- Our engineering time to investigate, diagnose and correct it.
- The corrected hardware design, firmware, documentation, or a documented workaround.
What isn’t covered
- Manufacture, materials, tooling, retesting and third party costs.
- Changes made to the design by anyone other than Ignys.
- Anything listed openly as an accepted deviation at completion.
- Later changes to standards, components or third party services.
