It is estimated that UK businesses have experienced around 7.78 million cyber-crimes in 2024.
Which begs the question – How safe is your data?
We’ve spent the summer putting the final touches in place, to ensure we can offer you the most secure electronic design consultancy services possible. We are now proud to announce that as of last month we are fully ISO 27001:2022 certified for Information security, cybersecurity and privacy protection.
What is ISO 27001?
“ISO/IEC 27001 is widely considered as the world’s strongest standard for information security management systems (ISMS). It defines requirements it must meet.
Conformity with ISO/IEC 27001 means that an organization or business has put in place a system to manage risks related to the security of data owned or handled by the company, and that this system respects all the best practices and principles enshrined in this International Standard.”

Being an organisation that prides itself on best practice and continual improvement, we found that a lot of the ISO27001 requirements were already in place and being practised . Following an intensive training program for every member of the Ignys tribe – plus a few additional polices – we were more or less ready to go!
Why we made the choice to be certified and what does it mean for you?
Cybercrime is on the rise, the risk of a cyber-attack is only going to increase the longer any of us are in business. So, as an organisation that handles a lot of sensitive information, we need to go further. If you’re to entrust us, then we need to keep being one step ahead and make sure we’re doing everything we can to keep your data safe and secure.
No going back – The consequences of stolen data
Once the leak has happened there’s no popping the cork back into the bottle. Here’s just a few consequences to consider following a successful cyber-attack.
Loss of Intellectual property
Leaked data isn’t just contact details and passwords, it’s potentially far worse – a complete loss of your intellectual property (IP). Roadmaps, source code, schematics, product faults (and fixes), all this is valuable information to digital pirates and untoward online agents who would look to sell to another company.
Loss of market share
If you lose your IP, you’re potentially losing your entire race to market before it’s begun. With a rival company now in possession of this data they could take your development/leg work and beat you to market with your designs.
Loss of reputation
A leak as substantial as loss of IP has obvious ramifications. But even “lesser” leaks have potential to cause long-lasting damage to your organisation’s reputation. Imagine your customer’s personal information out there in the public domain because your cyber security wasn’t tight enough? If you can’t be trusted with an email address, telephone number… why would they trust you with anything else?
You’re in good hands
This may all sound a bit frightening, but it doesn’t have to be.
If the project is worth signing an NDA for, make sure you’re asking the right questions ahead of commissioning any project work. With a little thought and due diligence when considering outsourcing any sensitive work, you can save yourself some serious headaches down the line.
If you’d like to speak to us about a sensitive project, or just how you can keep your data a little more secure please get in touch. We always love to hear from you and to chat shop with absolutely no obligations.
